Acupuncture In Pregnancy

Pregnant women are particularly highly motivated when it comes to finding drug-free solutions to medical problems. Acupuncture is an ideal form of treatment as it offers women safe and medication-free relief for a multitude of pregnancy-related and non related problems. Taken from an Excerpt from “Acupuncture in pregnancy and Childbirth” by Debra Betts, LA-C, “Its use for conditions often regarded as part of a normal pregnancy, for example morning sickness, sciatica and symphysis pubis pain, can not only improve a woman’s quality of life but also prevent them from becoming serious enough to necessitate medical treatment”.
Pre-birth acupuncture can enhance the prospects of an efficient labor. Pre-birth treatments given for either pregnancy support, labor preparation or to address a specific problem, such as breech or posterior presentation, pregnancy induced hypertension, or failure to begin labor following natural or artificial rupture of membranes, can reduce the level of medical interventions and enhance a woman and her family’s satisfaction with the process of labor.
